Boat, RV, and Camper Storage for Lake Season in Manhattan, KS

Tuttle Creek and Milford fill up the minute the weather turns, and a boat or camper is a lot more fun on the water than parked across your driveway all season. If your HOA, your spouse, or your garage has run out of patience, here is how to think about storing a boat, RV, or camper near Manhattan.
What size space do you need?
Vehicle storage is measured by length, not by the room-sized units you picture for household goods. Measure your rig from the tip of the trailer hitch to the rear bumper, then add a few feet of working room. A fishing boat or jet ski trailer needs far less than a travel trailer, and a big fifth-wheel or Class A motorhome needs the longest spaces we have. If you are not sure, tell us the make and length and we will point you to the right spot.
Outdoor, covered, or enclosed?
- Uncovered: the simplest and most affordable option, on a secure, well-lit lot. Fine for trailers and rigs you keep covered with your own tarp or cover.
- Covered: a roof over the top knocks down sun and weather, which matters through a Kansas summer and winter.
- Enclosed: full walls and a door, the best protection for a boat or RV you want to keep showroom-clean.
Right now that is covered parking at Skyway Drive (up to 45 feet) and uncovered parking at Marlatt Avenue (up to 50 feet). See the full rundown on our vehicle, RV, and boat storage page.
How close are you to Tuttle Creek and Milford?
Our Marlatt Avenue location on the north side is about ten minutes from Tuttle Creek, so it is an easy hitch-up on the way to the ramp and back. We serve the Milford side too. Pick whichever of our locations is on your way to the water.
Winterizing before off-season storage
When the season winds down, a little prep keeps your rig ready for spring:
- Clean it and let it fully dry so you are not storing mildew all winter.
- Drain the water systems and add fuel stabilizer; winterize the engine per your manual.
- Disconnect the battery or put it on a tender for longer stays.
- Cover it, and crack a vent if your cover allows, to cut down on trapped moisture.
