Axis Self Storage is owned and run by a group of local business owners who saw Manhattan needed cleaner, safer, more dependable storage. We live here, we manage the facilities ourselves, and when you call, you reach an owner, not a call center.
Our story
Owned and run by locals
Axis Self Storage opened in 2022, started by a group of Manhattan business owners who were tired of storage that felt run-down or run from out of town. The goal was simple: best-in-class storage backed by local ownership and real accountability.
Today we rent everything from 5×5 lockers to 12×40 drive-up garages: climate-controlled and standard units, covered and uncovered parking, and room for RVs, boats, and campers. If we do not have the right fit, we will help you find it, or build it.

Tom Abbott, President
Founder, born and raised in Manhattan with more than 30 years in storage. He is the reason Axis exists, and he sets how we build and how we treat people.
Thomas Weeks, Director of Operations
Runs daily operations with nearly a decade in storage and property management, and sits on the board of the Kansas Self Storage Owners Association. He is the owner you will actually deal with.
David Adkins, Director of Facilities
Heads construction and maintenance with more than 15 years of experience. His crew keeps every facility clean, secure, and newer than anything else in town.

Local rates, no games
Fair month-to-month pricing with no long contracts. A 10% discount for military and dependents with a valid ID, and a separate 10% for paying a full year up front. The two do not stack.
